Kaaterskill Falls: There are two sections to this waterfall, an upper and lower fall, which totals a height of 260 feet (supposedly it is taller than Niagara Falls)!
From the top of the upper falls looking down (we were right on the edge)!!!
This is a picture of the upper fall...there are two people sitting behind the falls; you can barely see them.
If you look in the middle of the picture you can kind of see a rope that from this view looks like two separate ropes. We watched a gentlemen belay down the side of the mountain next to the falls. Pretty AWESOME!
CATSKILL MOUNTAINS!!!
Look at that background...
Look at that FACE!!!
The Little Town of Tannersville
These were the best wholesome pancakes I have ever had: they had flax, sesame, and sunflower seeds with some oats all mixed together in the pancake batter with fresh peaches served on top! YUM!
The entire town was painted bright colors; it looked like something straight out of a movie.
All of the trash cans were painted in different designs and fun colors.
ELM RIDGE WILD FOREST
Neat fact about this little guy...he is a newt (part of the salamander family). Interestingly enough these little creatures are poisonous if ingested, can regrow a missing limb, usually they are only found in large groups during mating season, and they typically only wander out onto the forest floor after a rain storm. JUST SAYING....we saw about 75 newts during our walk...WOW!
Beautiful forest floor after a huge rainstorm!
CATSKILL MTN. COUNTRY STORE...
I love this place....in the front is a general store but in the back is where the magic happens.
I dare say that these are the worlds largest wooden chairs...look how BIG!
Mopey Snow Man!
Happy Chicken!
We found this little pony hanging out with the bunnies...
He just wandered around; he didn't even try to run away from us.
This is where he should be!
Kate Patterson you would LOVE this cute little bunny.

HOTEL KAATERSKILL SITE (1881-1924)
This hotel use to sit on the top of South Mountain in Catskill and during it's time it use to be one of the largest hotels on top of a mountain. This place was so large it had its own railroad to bring guest to the top.
In 1924 the hotel burt to the ground and this is what now lies at the great Hotel Kaaterskill site.
This was one of my favorite places during our trip.
The sign was a little deceiving; we thought we were going to actually see parts of the hotel remaining...not quite.
Froglet (juvenile frog) in between a tadpole and a frog...we found this in the small pond, along with salamanders, and cat fish!
A giant well...probably the only thing that remains from Hotel Kaaterskill.
I would say this was probably about 20 feet deep.
BE CAREFUL...DON'T FALL IN!
KAYAKING ON NORTH & SOUTH LAKE
Hard to see but there is a duck feast going on over in the lily pads.
GREEN MTN. NATIONAL FOREST
'THUNDERING FALLS'
One of Andrew's favorite places that we visited...how could it not be.
The best part...there was a little baby fawn sneezing uncontrollably as we walked along the boardwalk. We would have never noticed it, due to the the tall grass, but with all that racket we couldn't not stop and look for what animal was sneezing. Standing about 3 feet away from us was a little fawn. We ending up startling it, but after a couple of leaps it turned around so we could get a picture!
Can you find the fawn in both pictures?
CAMPING & GOOD TIMES...
Master fire builder!
Andrew's dinner....sausage!
